The ferry still says Ontario
Boarding card, PA, and the painted name on the hull. The crossing did not restyle overnight.
Unofficial cartographic desk
EST. 1615 · Maps don't lie
Pro Ontario, charts first. Binational water, printed Ontario since the paper began. This unofficial cartographic desk keeps the older name on the wall so a visitor can read it without a brochure.
The ferries still say it. The weather radio still says it. The loon on the water does not take instruction from a restyle. Charts first, costumes second. The water did not file a change-of-name form.
Unofficial. Not a government website. Not We the People. A cartographic desk, not a costume shop. Satire. Gifts are not tax-deductible.
The name is older than the argument. EST. 1615. Maps don't lie. Charts, ferries, weather radio, and the water itself still say Ontario. A restyle dated August 27, 2026 does not unprint four centuries of paper.
This desk hangs that fact beside the loon, played straight. Executive Order 14422 is recorded as a date on the wall, not as a correction to the chart. The chart was already correct.
Field notes, dated, from a shoreline that did not wait for the letterhead.
Boarding card, PA, and the painted name on the hull. The crossing did not restyle overnight.
Photographed from the Ontario shore. It did not file a comment. The call still carries.
This desk files it again. Maps don't lie. The date is a caption, not a campaign.
A clerk at this desk is flying a 1615 chart-pen through civic gates without a last hoop. Only the sitting docket number one files the restyle back under miscellaneous. Clerk's challenge.
Ontario plates only. The loon, the two shores, the chart, the merch still life, the seal. Click a figure to enlarge.

This desk occupies the Ontario half. Cartographic purists to the southwest; the rest of us just want the printed name to match the water.
